When we share our talents, time, ideas, and energy, we are abundantly blessed in return. If you are ready to expand your spirit and live a larger life, Unity of Chattanooga offers many meaningful ways you can contribute to our wonderful spiritual community and deepen your commitment to your own spiritual growth. We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to donate their time and talents. There are many ways to serve at Unity of Chattanooga and our community at-large. Here are just some of the areas where we always need extra support:
Our Welcome Team ensures that each visitor, first-timer, and regular attendee at Unity of Chattanooga is met with a friendly smile. Serving as both greeters and ushers, we help visitors orient themselves to the layout of our physical location and assist in finding seats in the Sanctuary area. We also participate in special events and holiday services. If you are interested in joining this dynamic ministry team, please talk with Terry Loveless after the Sunday service.
The Hospitality Team's focus is Sunday mornings. We ask people to sign-up and be responsible one Sunday a month for bringing in finger foods, both savory and sweet, setting up the fellowship area before the service, and cleanup after the service. It's a great way to support and encourage ‘community’ as well as meet so many wonderful people! Feeling like this is a good fit for you? Please contact our Volunteer Co-ordinator Penny Werth to serve on this team.
Our Sound Team utilizes the best technology and talent available to insure auditory excellence on Sundays and at other events. This team makes sure the PowerPoint presentation is rolling and the lights are on. Members of this team also operate the video camera to record the Minster's message. Training is provided. If you are interested in serving on this essential ministry team, please see Rick Gehrke on Sunday mornings.
Youth and Family Ministry Team
Want to teach our children? The mission of Youth Education is to empower children and youth to use spiritual wisdom to fulfill their soul’s purpose. We see education as a process, through which we effectively support the unfolding of the child’s spiritual nature and model the living of spiritual principles. Currently we have Sunday School for the Tots and Elementary school age children. We provide the lesson plans and you provide the love!
We would also like to create a program for our Uniteens (Middle school age) and Youth of Unity (known as YOU for those in High School) where young people can safely explore their Christ-nature and express their full potential. It could be one special person or even a co-chair team to work with our teens.
We invite you to contact Penny Werth if serving the youth of our community appeals to you.
Prayer Chaplain Team
Prayer Chaplains fill a variety of roles in a spiritual community. What is a prayer chaplain?
A Prayer Chaplain holds spiritual space.
A Prayer Chaplain listens with empathy.
A Prayer Chaplain maintains confidentiality.
A Prayer Chaplain prays with those requesting prayer.
Prayer Chaplains are available to pray with people after the Sunday celebration service, and at times during the week when requests are made to do so. If you interested in the Chaplaincy program, please see Rev Fayann.
Our mission is to bond together in love and to engage in meaningful service to ourselves, our local community and the world. Completed projects include Blessings Bags for the Homeless and the Annual Christmas Food and Toy drive for the Northside Neighborhood House. We also welcome new ideas and new ways to show our support in the community.
